This was visa week. We applied for our Type D Long-Stay National Visa at the Polish Consulate. It looks impressive – like a big mansion, really – but we were actually just in a small room in the basement. I had my original documents, a photocopied set for each person, and then supplementary docs I just thought we might need, but it turns out we needed way less than I thought and I have a lot of scrap paper in my house right now. The whole process took all of 40 minutes and the visas will be ready for us to pick up in 1 week. That’s one big item off of our to-do-before-we-go list.
